usage

跌倒 specifically means falling from a standing position (tripping, slipping). For falling from a height, use 摔下来 (shuāi xiàlái). 跌倒 is also used figuratively: 在哪里跌倒就在哪里爬起来 (get back up where you fell) means to recover from setbacks.
