蒟蒻 and 魔芋 are the same plant and the same food. The mainland usually says 魔芋; 蒟蒻 is the Taiwanese name and the usual word on packets of konjac jelly. Japanese writes the food with the same characters, 蒟蒻 (konnyaku).
