Loanword from Japanese ロリ (rori), itself shortened from "Lolita" (after Nabokov's novel). In Chinese ACG (anime/comics/games) culture it generally describes a small, cute, young-looking female character — not necessarily sexualized. The Japanese fashion subculture "Lolita fashion" (ロリータ・ファッション) is also called
萝莉 or
洛丽塔 (Luòlìtǎ).
