A Jiangnan street snack traditionally associated with Suzhou and Shanghai. Shredded white radish is squeezed dry, mixed with a light batter (sometimes with dried shrimp and pork), scooped into a long-handled ladle, and deep-fried into a golden hockey-puck. Do not confuse with the Cantonese
萝卜糕 (steamed radish cake).
