usage
Two flavors: literal (math/physics dimension — 三维 sānwéi, 3D) and figurative (perspective — 从…维度 cóng…wéidù, from the X dimension/angle). The figurative use has exploded in tech and consultancy writing.
mistakes
Don't confuse with 纬度 (wěidù), latitude. 维 (wéi) = to tie / dimension; 纬 (wěi) = woof / horizontal — keep the 纟 versus 纟+韦 difference straight.
