Tips

history
From Feng Menglong's Ming-dynasty 《警世通言》 volume 3: 真知灼见者,尚且有误,何况其他 - 'even those with genuine, illuminating insight still sometimes err, let alone others.' 灼 literally means 'bright as fire,' giving the sense that the insight is lit up and clear.
register
Strong praise, reserved for genuine, hard-won understanding (scholarly, strategic, expert). Do not use it for ordinary good opinions. Often used in prefaces, reviews, and formal praise of someone's analysis.
