迢迢牵牛星,
皎皎河汉女。
纤纤擢素手,
札札弄机杼……
盈盈一水间,
脉脉不得语 (Far-far the Cowherd star; bright-bright the maid of the Milky Way. Slender her pale hands stretch out; clack-clack she works the loom... only a brimming stretch of water between them, yet gazing, gazing, they cannot speak). A foundation text of the
