Mending the pen after losing sheep — it's still not too late.
Tips
usage
犹 ('still') + 未 ('not yet') + 为 ('be / count as') + 晚 ('late'). Often paired with 亡羊补牢 ('mend the fold after losing the sheep') as the moral: belated action still has value.
register
Literary. In casual speech 还不晚 (hái bù wǎn, 'still not late') or 来得及 (láidejí, 'in time') are more natural.
