焦作市 (JiāozuòShì): Jiaozuo (prefecture-level city in northwest Henan)

焦作 is the gateway to 云台山 (Mount Yuntai) — a UNESCO Global Geopark famous for the 红石峡 red sandstone gorge and filming locations for countless wuxia series. Historically the city was a coal-mining center run by British-Italian 福公司 from 1898, making it one of the earliest modern industrial cities in inland China.
