usage
Opposite is 掉粉 (lose followers). 涨 here uses its 'rise / increase' sense — same character as 涨价 (price rise). 粉 = 粉丝 (fans). Note pinyin: 涨 is zhǎng (3rd tone) when meaning 'rise'.
mistakes
Don't confuse 粉 (fans, fěn) with 分 (points, fēn) — different characters and tones, same English ambiguity.
