Baijiu is sorted by aroma. The three main types are 浓香型 'strong aroma', fruity and full, from 泸州老窖 and 五粮液; 酱香型 'sauce aroma', from 茅台; and 清香型 'light aroma', from 汾酒. Strong-aroma is the best-selling of the three.
