Two patterns to remember: (1) 既是…就… 'since … then …' introduces a reason just established, similar to 既然. (2) 既是…又是… '(she) is both X and Y' lists two simultaneous identities. Listening for 就 vs 又 in the second clause tells you which sense is meant.
