usage

抖擞 almost always takes 精神 'energy': 抖擞精神 'to pull oneself together', or the idiom 精神抖擞 'full of vigor'. The picture is of shaking out a cloak.

culture

The best-known use is 龚自珍's 1839 line 我劝天公重抖擞 'I urge Heaven to rouse itself again', a call for new talent in a stagnant late-Qing China.
