usage
His full name is 孙悟空. His first teacher, the Patriarch Subhuti, gave him the surname 孙, taken from 猢狲 'monkey', and the Buddhist name 悟空 'awakened to emptiness'. His fellow pilgrims call him 猴哥 'Brother Monkey' or 大师兄 'Senior Brother'.
