Responsible for the majority of malaria deaths worldwide. Tu Youyou (屠呦呦) won the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for discovering artemisinin (青蒿素) as a treatment, drawing on a 4th-century prescription by Ge Hong (葛洪) found in 《肘后备急方》.
