Tips

history
Officially the 释迦 (Fógōngsì Shìjiā Tǎ) of Fogong Temple in Ying County, Shanxi. Built in 1056 under the Liao dynasty, it stands 67.31 m tall — the world's oldest and tallest fully wooden pagoda still standing. Famously, the entire structure uses interlocking dougong (斗拱) brackets and not a single nail.
