Tips

usage
Often colloquial-slightly-conspiratorial. Most natural as 对口径 / 一下口径 / 口径. Used both for shady alibis and for legitimate coordination of an official line — context tells you which.
memory
口径 literally is 'caliber' (the bore of a gun barrel). To 对口径 is to make sure all the barrels are the same caliber — i.e., everyone is firing the same round (story).
