Yibin is called 万里长江第一城 ("the first city of the ten-thousand-li Yangtze") because the Yangtze officially begins here, at the confluence of the 金沙江 and 岷江. It is also the home of 五粮液, one of China's two most famous baijiu brands (alongside 茅台).
