Founded ca. 1299 by Osman I (奥斯曼一世), peaked under Suleiman the Magnificent (苏莱曼一世) in the 16th century, dissolved in 1922 when the sultanate was abolished and the Republic of Turkey (土耳其共和国) was founded by Atatürk.

土耳其 (Tǔ'ěrqí) means modern Turkey; 奥斯曼帝国 is the historical empire. Don't conflate. Adjectival form: 奥斯曼的 (Ottoman) or 奥斯曼时期 (Ottoman period).
