history
From Li Bai's Tang-dynasty 《春夜宴从弟桃花园序》: 会桃花之芳园,序天伦之乐事 — 'gathering in the fragrant peach-blossom garden, sharing the joys of kinship.' 天伦 originally meant the natural bonds between parents, siblings, and close kin.
usage
Most often paired with 享受 (enjoy) or 尽享 (fully enjoy). Strongly connotes multigenerational gatherings — grandparents, parents, children together.
