history

It was built in 1945 for the soldiers of the Chinese Expeditionary Force (远征军) who fell in the siege of Tengchong. Their small headstones stand in rows up a hillside.

The name comes from 国殇, 屈原's hymn for the fallen soldiers of Chu in the 九歌.
