From Xin Qiji's (, Southern Song) 《西江·》: 稻花香听取 — 'Through the rice-flower fragrance, they speak of the good harvest; one listens, and hears a whole stretch of frog-song.' A canonical pastoral couplet, famous for associating frog-croaks with the promise of a full granary.
usage
Nearly always quoted together with its first line 稻花香. here = 'a whole spread / everywhere at once', quantifying a continuous sound.
