Chinese trains have 硬卧 (yìng wò, hard sleeper) and 软卧 (ruǎn wò, soft sleeper). Hard sleepers have 3 tiers in an open compartment; soft sleepers have 2 tiers in a private compartment with a door.
usage
The opposite is 硬座 (yìng zuò, hard seat) - the cheapest, most basic train seating.
