usage

Often pairs with 地方志 (dìfāngzhì, local gazetteers), 词典 (dictionaries) and 教材 (textbooks) — i.e. reference works that need periodic re-editing. 修编 implies more substantial work than 修订 (xiūdìng, 'revise') and includes recompiling.
