Tips

history
The first Chinese versions came from Jesuits: 利玛窦 (Matteo Ricci) retold a few fables in 1608, and in 1625 金尼阁 (Nicolas Trigault) dictated 22 of them, published as 况义. The title 伊索寓言 first appeared on 林纾's 1902 translation.
