From 李清照·寻觅》(Li Qingzhao, Southern Song): 寻觅冷清凄惨乍暖还寒时候 (Seeking, searching; cold, lonely; miserable, wretched, grieving. A time that warms then chills again — hardest to rest in). Written in her widowed exile after the Jurchen invasion; the opening fourteen doubled characters 寻觅... is one of the most celebrated technical feats in Chinese ci.
usage
here reads hái (modern 'still'), though some older readings give huán. = 'suddenly, just.' The phrase is now everyday vocabulary for early-spring / late-autumn weather.
