Tips

culture
"Dragon City" - a name attached to several Chinese locations. Most famously it is the elegant nickname for Taiyuan (太原), Shanxi's capital, since Tang dynasty poetry; for this reason Taiyuan's metro is called 龙城轨道. Longcheng is also Liuzhou's (柳州) traditional name, and the official name of a district of Chaoyang (朝阳, Liaoning) and of Changzhou (常州, Jiangsu). In classical poetry 龙城 often refers to a Han-dynasty sacred site of the Xiongnu.
