"Dragon City" — a name attached to several Chinese locations. Most famously it is the elegant nickname for Taiyuan (太原), Shanxi's capital, since Tang dynasty poetry; for this reason Taiyuan's metro is called 龙城轨道. Longcheng is also Liuzhou's () traditional name, and the official name of a district of Chaoyang (, Liaoning) and of Changzhou (, Jiangsu). In classical poetry 龙城 often refers to a Han-dynasty sacred site of the Xiongnu (e.g. "使龙城").
