history

On 27 April 1911 (lunar 3rd month, 29th day), revolutionaries led by 黄兴 attacked the Qing viceroy's office in Guangzhou. The uprising failed and 86 bodies were eventually identified, but only 72 were initially recovered and buried together at 黄花岗 ('Yellow Flower Hill'). The event galvanized public support for the 辛亥革命 (1911 Revolution) months later.
