Type I hypersensitivity reactions include allergic asthma and food allergies.
Tips
usage
Medical/immunology term covering all four Coombs-Gell types (I-IV) of pathological immune response. Everyday "allergy" is 过敏 (guòmǐn) — that's a subset, but in casual conversation patients and doctors use 过敏 instead of 超敏反应.
memory
超 (super/over) + 敏 (sensitive) + 反应 (reaction) → "super-sensitive reaction". 敏 is the same character as in 敏感 (sensitive) and 过敏 (allergy).
