From 诗经·卫风·硕人: 领如蝤蛴, 齿如瓠犀 — 'her neck like a wood grub, her teeth like melon seeds.' Odd to modern ears, but the longhorn beetle larva's pale, slender body was the classical ideal for a woman's neck.
