Modern Chinese military terminology: 步枪 (bùqiāng) = rifle, 自动 (zìdòng) = automatic. China's standard-issue is the 95式自动步枪 (Type 95). Distinguish from 半自动步枪 (bàn zìdòng bùqiāng, semi-automatic rifle) and 冲锋枪 (chōngfēngqiāng, submachine gun).
