usage
The more respectful medical term is 阿尔茨海默症 (Ā'ěrcíhǎimò zhèng, Alzheimer's). 老年痴呆症 is common but considered somewhat stigmatizing due to the word 痴呆 ("demented/idiotic"). In formal medical contexts, 认知障碍 is preferred.
