history

The Luoxiao range is where Mao Zedong led the Red Army to establish the Jinggangshan 井冈山 base in 1927–28 — the first rural revolutionary base of the Chinese Communist Party. The mountains are heavily mythologized in PRC historiography as the 'cradle of the Chinese revolution'.
