Also known as 戊戌变法 (1898, the year). Led by Kang Youwei (康有为) and Liang Qichao (梁启超) with backing from the young Guangxu Emperor (光绪). Empress Dowager Cixi (慈禧) staged a coup on day 103, placed the emperor under house arrest and executed six of the reformers (君子), including Tan Sitong (谭嗣同).
