June-September 1898 reform movement led by Kang Youwei and Liang Qichao under the Guangxu Emperor, attempting constitutional monarchy, modern schools, and military reform. Crushed after 103 days when Empress Dowager Cixi staged a coup, imprisoned Guangxu, and executed six reformers (戊戌六君子, including Tan Sitong).
