The Beijing 稻香村 was founded in 1895 by Suzhou pastry-maker 郭玉生 in Qianmen — among the oldest 中华老字号 (China Time-Honoured Brands) still operating. Best known for mooncakes, sachima, and traditional pastries; queues round the block before festivals are a Beijing ritual.
usage
There's also a Suzhou-based 稻香村 brand (founded 1773), and the two have been in trademark litigation for decades. The name itself was borrowed from 《红楼梦》, where 稻香村 is the rustic farmhouse-style residence of Li Wan in the Grand View Garden.
