Tips

history
Discovered in 1847 by Italian chemist Ascanio Sobrero, then tamed by Alfred Nobel in 1867 by absorbing it into diatomaceous earth — that mixture, dynamite, made him rich enough to fund the Nobel Prizes. Today the same compound saves heart-attack patients as a vasodilator pill.
