usage
Describes literal violent storms and, by extension, sudden dramatic change or upheaval (e.g. 市场上电闪雷鸣 - turmoil in the markets). Often follows weather narration in stories and weather reports.

Two verb-noun pairs swapped: 电闪 (lightning flashes) + 雷鸣 (thunder roars). Pair each element with its sensory cue - sight of lightning, sound of thunder - and the order falls out naturally.
