Signature 元宵节 activity: riddles are written on strips of paper and stuck to lanterns; guess right and you take the lantern home. The game took its modern form in the Song dynasty. Many riddles are 字谜 — visual puzzles built from character components (e.g. 一点一横长 → 京).
