董仲舒). The full slogan is
罢黜百家,
独尊儒术 (bachu baijia, duzun rushu) - 'dismiss the Hundred Schools, revere only the Confucian arts.' It made Confucianism the official state ideology and shaped imperial China for over two millennia.
