usage
Two quite different senses: (1) in finance/media, to hype or speculatively drive up attention or price; (2) in Taiwan food scene, 热炒 is the casual stir-fry eatery genre - cheap beer, fresh wok dishes.

热 hot + 炒 stir-fry. Imagine news or a stock getting tossed in a hot wok - that's the 'hype' sense.
