usage
In modern usage 烧水壶 almost always means an electric kettle (电热水壶). The traditional stovetop kettle is more often called 水壶 alone. Note Chinese homes use kettles primarily for tea and for filling 暖水瓶 (thermoses), not for instant coffee.
