Strongly literary. The classic collocation is
良心泯灭 ('conscience extinguished') — used to describe someone who has lost all moral feeling. Also pairs with
希望 (hope),
记忆 (memory),
人性 (humanity). Don't use it for ordinary disappearance — for that,
消失 or
消亡 is more natural.
