Tips

history
He came from Pei, Liu Bang's home county, and married the younger sister of Liu Bang's wife, the future 吕后. At the 鸿门宴 he stormed in, glared at 项羽 with his hair on end, and downed the cup of wine and the raw pork shoulder he was given. Xiang Yu called him a fine warrior, and in the pause Liu Bang slipped away.
culture
The banquet's best-known line is his, urging Liu Bang to leave without saying goodbye: 人为刀俎,我为鱼肉, 'they are the knife and the chopping block, and we are the fish and the meat'.
