朱华 famously appears in Cao Zhi's (曹植) poem《公宴》: '秋兰被长坂,朱华冒绿池' (autumn orchids cover the long slope, red blooms rise above the green pond) — where 朱华 specifically refers to lotus flowers.

Purely literary/classical. In modern Chinese, say 荷花 (héhuā) for lotus or 红花 (hónghuā) for red flowers. 朱华 is also used as a personal name playing on these poetic associations.
