毛泽东《
卜算子·
咏梅》(Mao Zedong, 1961), a cí written in answer to Lu You's poem of the same title:
风雨送春归,
飞雪迎春到。
已是悬崖百丈冰,
犹有花枝俏。
俏也不争春,
只把春来报。
待到山花烂漫时,
她在丛中笑 (Wind and rain saw spring away; whirling snow welcomes spring's return. Already the cliff is sheathed in a hundred-fathom ice — yet still a spray of blossom stays bright...). Written during the Sino-Soviet split and domestic hardships, the plum blossom is a self-portrait of revolutionary endurance.
