Books of the Analects are named after their opening words. Book 9 begins
子罕言利 'the Master seldom spoke of profit':
子 is Confucius and
罕 means 'seldom', so the title is not a person's name. The book also holds
逝者如斯夫 'all that passes is like this river', said on a riverbank, and
匹夫不可夺志也 'even a common man cannot be robbed of his will'.
