来 here does not mean 'to come'.
夜来 is a poetic time word, 'in the night' or 'last night', as in
孟浩然's 《
春晓》:
夜来风雨声 'in the night, the sound of wind and rain'. Do not confuse it with
夜来香, a flower that gives off its scent at night and the title of a famous 1940s song.
