Tips

culture
Most prominently Princess Seonhwa (善花公主), third daughter of King Jinpyeong of Silla, immortalized in the 7th-century Korean folk poem 《薯童谣》 (Seodong-yo): a Baekje commoner spreads a fake song claiming the princess sneaks out at night, gets her exiled, and then marries her - Korea's oldest surviving vernacular love story. The drama 《善德女王》 (Queen Seondeok, 2009) made the name familiar across East Asia.
memory
(good, virtuous) + (flower) - 'virtuous flower', a graceful name. The same hanzi work as both Korean Hanja and Chinese characters; the Korean reading is Seonhwa, Mandarin reading is Shànhuā.
